The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, and Lord of the easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
