The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And as protection against every rebellious devil 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 And our forefathers? 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
