The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 By the angels driving away. 2 and the reciters of a Remembrance, 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 So ask them (that is, human beings): “Were they harder to create than the objects We created?” We created them from sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 And they say: "This is nothing but evident magic! 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
