The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them if they are more difficult to create, or the rest We have created? Indeed (man) We created from fermented clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
