The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and those who recite the Remembrance 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 “Yes, this is the Day of Final Decision that you used to deny as a lie.” 21
