The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 and those who recite the Remembrance 3 your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 And to guard against every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
