The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And when they are reminded, they pay no attention. 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 And say: Ah, woe for us! This is the Day of Judgment. 20 [It will be said], "This is the Day of Judgement which you have been denying." 21
