The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who range themselves in ranks, 1 by those who reprove severely, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 and when they are reminded [of the truth,] they refuse to take it to heart; 13 and when they see a miracle, they mock 14 it and say, "It is only plain magic". 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
