The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 By the angels reciting the praise. 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
