۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
