1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
