۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
