1/2 Hizb 45

۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 What, do we then not die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 for the like of this let the workers work.' 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
