۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people, 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
