۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then most surely they shall have after it to drink of a mixture prepared in boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
