۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 A drink will be passed round among them from a flowing spring: 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
