1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Therefore, on that Day they will all share Our punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
