1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 sitting face to face upon couches, 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
