۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
