And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
