And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
