And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
