And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
