And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
