3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
