And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
