And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
