And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron. 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, 117 And guided them to the Right Path; 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 Elias was certainly a Messenger. 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 They called him a liar. Thus, all of them will suffer torment 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 save an old woman among those that tarried; 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 and at night, will you not understand? 138
