Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Again (of old) We bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron, 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 We helped them, and they became victorious, 116 We granted them a Clear Book, 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Peace be on Musa and Haroun. 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Call ye upon Bal and forsake the Best of creators. 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the chosen creatures of God. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 You pass by them in the morning 137 and at night. Do you still not understand? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
