We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 And We helped them, so they were victorious. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We perpetuated (praise) to them among the later generations. 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 That is how We reward those who do good. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 What! do you call upon Ba'l and forsake the best of the creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 Except the sincere and devoted Servants of Allah (among them). 128 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 129 Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind. 135 Then We annihilated the others. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
