Hizb 46

AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a while. 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
