Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Lo! it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
