Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 And indeed the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 Peace be with the Messengers (of God). 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
