Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch and they shall see (the torment)! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
