Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 and had he not been among those who exalt (Allah), 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 But as for you, and that you worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
