Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask their opinion: “(Are you convinced) that your Lord should have daughters and you should have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
