Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would certainly have tarried in its belly to the day when they are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 They say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see, soon they shall see! 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
