Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They used to say before: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 What! would they then hasten on Our chastisement? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
