Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 and they believed, and We gave them enjoyment for awhile. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinns, but the jinns know well that they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be brought for accounts). 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 They say, 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 and peace be upon the Messengers, 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
