Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So you ignore them for a time 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When that chastisement will descend upon their courtyard, evil shall that Day be for those who had been warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
