And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand men or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 “Allah has begotten.” They are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except for God's sincere servants. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 What though they would say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
