Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 We are surely those who are arranged in ranks. 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." 169 But (now that the Qur'an has come), they reject it: But soon will they know! 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So, (O Prophet), leave them alone for a while, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
