S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
