S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 "Has he made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Or do they have the depositories of the mercy of your Lord, the Exalted in Might, the Bestower? 9 Do they own the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Let them try on their own to block (the ways of heavens so that Our revelations cannot come to you). 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
