S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 Now these [people] deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst - and [so] the deniers of the truth are saying: "A [mere] spellbinder is he, a liar! 4 What! makes he the gods a single Allah? A strange thing is this, to be sure! 5 And their leaders launch forth [thus]: "Go ahead, and hold steadfastly onto your deities: this, behold, is the only thing to do! 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 and Thamood, and the people of Lot, and the men of the Thicket - those were the parties; 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14
