88 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Moon (Al-Qamar) before A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape. 3 And they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves. And the disbelievers say, "This is a magician and a liar. 4 Does he make all the deities out to be one God? This is indeed a strange thing." 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Before them the people of Noah, Ad, and Pharaoh of the tent-pegs gave the lie (to the Messengers) 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). 14

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
