S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
SAD. I CALL to witness the admonishing Qur'an. 1 But those who disbelieve are in pride and dissension. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a marvellous thing.' 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Do they own the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Let them try on their own to block (the ways of heavens so that Our revelations cannot come to you). 10 This is only a small army out of the several armies that will suffer defeat here. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 So also did the people of Thamud, Lot, and the dwellers of the Forest. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
