S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
