S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
SAD. I CALL to witness the admonishing Qur'an. 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they possess the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
