And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire! 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. 29 And We gave unto David Solomon; how excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 Therefore Sulaiman said, “I cherish the love of these horses*, out of remembrance of my Lord”; he then ordered them to be raced until they vanished in a curtain out of sight. (To be used in holy war.) 32 (Then he said): Bring them back to me, and fell to slashing (with his sword their) legs and necks. 33 And We indeed tested Sulaiman, and placed a dead body on his throne – he therefore inclined towards His Lord. 34 He said, "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me. Indeed, You are the Bestower." 35 So we subjugated the wind to his service which carried his merchandise wheresoever he wished; 36 As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- 37 and others also, coupled in fetters: 38 “This is Our bestowal. So give or withhold as you wish without account.” 39 And he has a place near to Us, and a fine return. 40
